Ton, Scheine, Scherben – Collective film practice at the HPM

The film seminar with students of Angelika Levi and the artistic collaborators Andrea & Matei Bellu deals with the Höchster Porzellan Manufaktur, which has been a new teaching and research location of the HfG since 2023. It examines the frequencies of a disappearing craft and a factory in transition. The common thread is the location – the HPM – where the work and possible collaborations between teaching and ceramic production converge, and the protagonist of the seminar is the digital camera ‘Amira’ by Arri. The seminar introduces the handling of the camera in order to turn it into an artistic tool in the next step.

Accompanying this, documentary films dealing with institutions and factories, social structures and the production of goods will be viewed and discussed together. Here too, the focus will be on films made by film groups and collectives.
